JELENA JOVOVIC

is without a doubt one of the top singers in European jazz.  

Her singing skills and stunning stage presence touches the hearts of listeners wolrdwide and makes each of her concerts a special experience.

The native Serb was discovered at the age of sixteen by well-known musicians from the lively metrople Belgrade.

Jelena passed her masters degree in jazz singing at the University of Arts in Graz, Austria with "summa cum laude" and her studies at the University of Arts in Belgrade with a diploma.  

After completing her studies Jelena Jovovic accepted the invitation from the University of Cape Town, south Africa, to establish a curriculum for Jazz singing

at the "College of Music".  

Since her return to Belgrade, Jelena has worked as creative director of the radio television big band and is a professor of jazz singing at the music school "Stankovic".

She has worked with such renowned jazz musicians as Chuck Israels, Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordon, Dusko Gojkovic, Fritz pauer, Johanness Enders, the SABC Big Band, Peter Herboltzheimer, the Vienna Art Orchestra, Peter Mihelich, Claus Raible, 

RTS Big Band, Johnny Fourie, Khaya Mahlangu, Bojan Z., Paulo Cardoso, Carlo Mombelli, Bob Mover, Steve Williams, Joe Cohn, Reza Khota, Kesivan Naidoo,

Andrew Lilley, Jack van Poll, Oliver Kent, Renato Chicco, Joe Cohn, to name a few.

The current CD Heartbeat, released in 2019, is located between post-bop and fusion and combines the material with the acoustic ambience and the entire swing and groove. 

Traditionel American jazz sounds, which are skillfully immersed in a melodic motifs of the Balkans, make this album unique, tasteful and captivating.
